  1. I find that it doesn’t allow you to make adjustments as easily as Roxio PhotoSuite 8. I thought it would be easier to do work on photos. Too many dropdowns and too much searching for items to create better photos.
  2. I thought I received a great product for a great product. Everything about the transaction went well. I received it earlier than expected and am more than satisfied with Photoshop Elements 6. It is a great program for simple and advanced photo editing. I’ve fixed up a number of my favorite shots without ruining them like some editor programs do.
  3. happy with it and the price on Thursday 11, 2009
Got this through a recommendation on Instapundit. Really should get the manual too though as I am slogging away with it. Having said that, it is fairly easy to use and the price was much more in liine with what I am able to spend
  4. This is a beautiful product, but you have to buy the manuals and Self-help guides seperately to be able to understand and use the product effectively. So, when pricing this into your budget, build in those little gotchas!
  5. PhotoShop 6 on Thursday 11, 2009
We liked everything about the software except it lacks a manual. This is ok for folks who have used previous levels of PS, but if you haven’t used it for a while, plan on purchasing an after market book —- like The Missing Manual book.
  6. Fun stuff on Thursday 11, 2009
I used to be an avid picture taker of friends and family before the digital age and always kept my photos organized well in albums. It took a long time for me to get a digital camera and then once I did, I found that I rarely took it anywhere with me and when I did use it I would just put the pictures on the computer and never do anything with them again. I also found that I was so inexperienced with photo software that I would have several pictures in several different places. Photoshop has changed all of that. I’ve been able to get all my pictures together in one place, organized and am having a blast doing fun things with them and making them look better than ever. I am now using my camera more often and I have even purchased Photoshop Essentials 2 to go along with this.
  7. Just what I wanted on Thursday 11, 2009
We ordered this since our old version (3 I think?) had problems with our new operating system (Windows Vista). It installed just fine and my husband transferred in all our tags and pictures and it works just like it should. The colors and some set up is new and different. The automatic red eye (option during import into the catalog) does not do a very good job. I prefer to do it with the red eye in the quick fix. (The import pictures dialog box has more choices, like “date picture taken” for one of the file renaming options, and I like that.) The welcome screen is more intuitive than version 3. I’d rate myself as beginner (step above novice) and I would recommend it to anyone who’s comfortable experimenting with new software, or already familiar with adobe photoshop previous versions. Good for beginners or more intermediate (maybe up through advanced?) users. For extreme beginners who are looking for simply red eye, cropping, tones (b&w, sepia), and organizing, but no other editing features, I would recommend photoshop album starter edition.
  8. PSE 6 REview on Thursday 11, 2009
Had good luck instaling the program – no problems. Easy to transition from PSE 3. Has an undo button contrary to some reviews that I read. Highly recommend.
  9. I strongly support those who say that if you are using PSE 5.0 now, don’t upgrade to 6.0. I’ve been using Photoshop Elements since version 3.0 came out and have always been very happy with it. It was a no-brainer that I would upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 when I got my new computer last year running Windows XP Media Center. The PSE upgrade does have some cool additional features that allow you to tweak your photos even more. Unfortunately, there are also some bugs in the program that Adobe has yet to iron out. One of them, which you can read about on various online forums, is the one plaguing me … the Organizer interface crashes after I upload RAW (.CR2) files. Multiple messages pop up about C++ runtime errors, etc. It’s extremely annoying and time-consuming to deal with and I’m considering going back to 5.0, except that another bug — I had to re-label several hundred files because the keywords didn’t carry over from 5.0 to 6.0 — has cost me additional grief and I don’t want to have to do that all over again. So long story short, I think the hassles involved if your PSE 6.0 doesn’t work properly (like mine) far outweigh the advantages if you are already happily running version 5.0. I, in the meantime, will wait for Adobe either to de-bug PSE 6.0 or just battle on until PSE 7.0 comes out.
  10. Adobe Elements 6 on Thursday 11, 2009
After reading reviews of various photo editing software, I decided on Adobe Elements 6. I have found it to be an excellent program.
  11. I have been using Photoshop for years (since ver.3 early 1990s). I bought Photoshop Elements for my pc because I did not want to have to spend several hundred dollars on a full ver. of photoshop for the PC. (I work on Macintosh computers). Elements for the PC is GREAT, First of all it just cost $89.00 second, it has MANY of the filters and tools of the full version of Photoshop although they are in different places. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because you cannot convert a photo from RGB to CMYK modes. Other than that I believe this is a wonderful program. The other reviewers who do not like Elements, Obviously have NEVER used Photoshop before and have NO experience working with a professional photo editor. For the Price….This is a GREAT Program!!!
  12. Fortunate to have friend on Thursday 11, 2009
Excellent product, marred by extremely poor directions. Fortunately I have a good friend who has used Photoshop for uears. He was my teacher. Spent hours with me, and is still available.
  13. I have been working with Elements for years. It is not a product I use all the time so it has to be something that I can pickup quickly. After installing I noticed how much better the interface was than with previous versions. It seem to be much easier to navigate around. I imported photos, added keywords and ratings to make it easier to find photos. Going in between the orginizer and editing was much easier. How the new edit GUI’s were setup was much easier to work around. I was able to do things in Elements that I would normally have to do in PS CS3. I am not saying at all it is even close to the CS3 level, but the controls and setup was simular enough I was able to do some of the more basic functions and even some advanced with no issues. Since it has been awhile since I had use Elements, I am not sure of the new features, but it just seemed easier to find things than before and also that there were some more CS3 fuctions added. All in all, I really liked the product and would recomend it to anyone. Tested on Windows XP.
  14. This program is a great help in making the best out of photos and slides. What I apprecaite most is the fact that it is written for those of us who are not computer experts. Too many times instructions appear to believe that you already know the problems and answers.
  15. Adobe Photo Elements 6.0 on Thursday 11, 2009
Very powerful although not all that intuitive for a new user. We had to purchase Photoshop Elements 6 for Dummies to get some guidance although neither of us is a technical dummie.
  16. Not worth the money on Thursday 11, 2009
I do not like this product at all, it is without a doubt the most unuser friendly photo editing program made. In the past I used Microsoft Digital Image and absolutely loved it, it did everything I wanted and was very easy to use. Then my husband was so kind as to buy me a new computer but unfortunately is was a Vista (did I mention I don’t like Vista either), ans was also kind enough to have them download Abode Photoshop Elements. I was happy about the new computer but after several tries with the new photoshop, I can honestly say I would rather have my XP back with all my old photoediting programs. I don’t care if it is the best rated all I know is that this product is the more money than it is worth.
  17. Faulty software on Thursday 11, 2009
I COULD NOT LOAD THIS SOFTWARE. I REPORTED THIS TO THE SUPPLIER IMMEDIATELY, AND ONCE MORE SUBSEQUENTLY, AND ASKED TO RETURN THE ITEM. TO DAT I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE.
  18. tough for a beginner on Thursday 11, 2009
I bought this used software and have had problems with my computer ever since I installed it. Also there is no manual. I need more instruction in order to use this. This is not the sellers fault, but is a word of caution of purchasers of used software.
  19. PSE 6 on Thursday 11, 2009
To the person who says it take too long to open a 8 meg file, I just opened a 15.1 meg raw file in less than 5 seconds. To the person who can’t edit in 16 bit mode, I do all my editing in 16 bit mode (most of the time converted RAW to TIF, but sometime actually with a RAW photo. I’m running a two-year old HP laptop with a 2 gig processor and 2 gig RAM, so I’m not sure why you cannot run 16 bit or why it takes too long to open a file. I find this program great for doing minor edits to photos. I basically use PSE6 for minor color cast revision due to scanning where the scanner adds a slight color cast, for minor sharpening, for resizing and for printing. I find it is a great software; especially for the price.
  20. New Version Lives Up To Reputation on Thursday 11, 2009
Installation For this review of Photoshop Elements 6 I headed to http://www.adobe.com, which offers download links. The site requires an account to download software. After signing-in, I downloaded the executable and the install occurred. I let it use the C drive after making sure there was enough space. A quick reboot and I was on my way! First Impression The first thing that you will see is the welcome screen which you can change so that you open in either the Editor or the Organizer. There are links to “create” and “share” as well. Once you are inside PSE6, you will notice that the interface is different from previous versions. With its gray-on-black color scheme, PSE6 has a sleek, no-nonsense look, and is easy to get around once you are familiar with it. The features are designed to help anyone to step through any project, while offering enhancements to existing components. Upgraders will enjoy these enhancements, while newcomers will benefit from the straightforward, friendly interface. Organizer Since the Organizer is the first link, let’s start there. This is a powerful, useful and feature-packed media organizer, which can stand on its own as an application. Photos can be divided into one or several catalogs. Either way, the Organizer is quite efficient and keeps everything tidy. A Backup Reminder will help you to back up your media, if you wish to use PSE6 for that purpose. Advice – do backups regularly using something! A new feature is Smart-albums, which make it easy to automatically search for certain criteria such as date and folders. Another way to manage your photos is to use albums or keywords, which let you keep related photos together for special projects. Since these work on filenames and other criteria, the photos must be identified as you add them to your computer. Use the Organizer, to see versions of a photo, change thumbnail size, view photos full-screen, and compare photos side by side. The Organizer allows you to also Fix, Create and Share your photos. However, you must move, copy, delete from this screen, or you will “lose” the photo. If that happens, PSE6 and previous versions allow you to reconnect photos, thereby “cleaning up” the catalog. The Organizer is a powerful, easy way to manage and edit your photos library. Editor A new feature is the Guided Edit, designed to walk the user through an editing function. For instance, if I wanted to crop a picture, I would answer the offered question, i.e., choose crop from the list, and the program will begin to interact. This feature takes the mystery out of trying to figure out the various tools and menus, and is a great incentive for the novice in PSE6. I like the way it lets you see the before and after results of your editing; don’t worry – your original is not lost; a Stack is created, saving the original photo. Or, you can simply do a Save As and rename the photo after you are done. In my workflow, I use the Guided Edit, then go into the Full Edit to fine-tune my results, utilizing the best of both worlds. Lastly, there is the PhotoMerge, which will allow you to pick and choose faces and parts of one picture, and paste them into another, creating an effortless picture of groups. Create This is my favorite part – with a few clicks, you can create a Photo Book, Photo Calendar, Photo Collage, Online Gallery or Slide Show, and many other items by clicking on More Options. Here is where I began to understand the monumental amount of available features. Everything is centralized; you can use PSE6 exclusively to create any type of available media for sharing or uploading to the Internet. I found this to be easy and fun. Share Ultimately, one would probably want to use this program to easily share photos once they are edited and completed. Again, for starters, there are the Online Gallery, E-mail Attachments, Photo Mail, Print Ordering, or CD/DVD options, or…I did a Photo Mail, which connected directly to my Outlook client, and looked good with the addition of the provided template. My Project I wanted to enhance a shot I’d taken in Las Vegas. First, I opened the picture in pSE6. Then I duplicated the Background Layer. I chose “guide for editing a photo” and just went with it. First, I was able to straighten my picture using Basic Photo Edits. Then I cropped my picture. Any edits made in the Guided Edit are done by sliders, and they can be reset. Also, you can view the Before & After results. I really like that; rather than a Preview, the results are easier to see. At any point, you can switch to Full Edit, and I did when I was ready to apply some excitement to my scene. Next, I went to Full Edit, where I could adjust some color and apply interesting filters. First, I created my Background copy as a new layer, and selected the sky with the Magic Wand. I then used more layers to create a background blend. With the addition of filters and additional cropping, a final product was achieved. Now, this would probably not get an award at a photo competition, but PSE6 lets you be creative and experiment with different effects on your photos. As a long-time user, I prefer to use the full edit, which allows me to choose my tools and work in layers. I also enhance my photos, and to experiment with different filter effects. PSE6 creates layers by just dragging or clicking inside the layers palette. IMHO As a beginner, you can use the Guided Edit. If you are more adventurous or want to use all the features of pse6, you can use the Full Edit. There is also a Quick Edit as well, for automatic corrections on pictures. I also like the flexibility of pse6, where you’re not limited to a full knowledge of the program to begin using it. Sharing is easy and fun, and flexible. My overall impression is that, as a seasoned user of this program, it is fun and productive. If you haven’t upgraded in a while, this is worth taking a look. If you are looking for a photo editing program to work with your new digital camera, this is a perfect choice. No matter what your needs, be sure to try this out first, as I did. I strongly believe that current users should know what the new features are. There will be plenty of time in 30 days to decide if it is what you want. My guess is it will be.
  21. Very happy with this program. It will do anything you want it to. Very simple to use. However, it has advanced features that accomplished users will enjoy. Don’t look any further than this if you want the best.
  22. Never Got It on Thursday 11, 2009
It may be a fine product, or it may not be. It was sent to my old address by Amazon – my error, they said. It was supposed to be forwarded by someone to my new address in Utah. I haven’t received it yet. BE CAREFUL with the 1-step ordering – it’s so easy because they keep your credit card # on file. I didn’t even realize I had finished ordering it without changing the address, but I wanted to finish the order the next morning. I found out that next morning via email that I had ordered it, but it was on its way to my old address. Amazon representatives haven’t helped. BE CAREFUL – I will buy Elements 7 since I have waited so long anyway, but not from Amazon.
  23. WARNING! on Thursday 11, 2009
If you are using Photoshop Elements 3 you will NOT be able to transfer or import your current catalog and tags into Elements 6. Before I bought 6 I called Adobe and they said I’d be able to import my current catalog and tags into 6 but AFTER I had purchased it they said it wasn’t compatible!
  24. PE Ver 6 - Another winner on Thursday 11, 2009
I purchased Photoshop Elements Ver.6 as a divorce gift for my ex-wife and she seems to really like it. She told me that it was very user friendly and easy to learn even though it has a lot of capabilities.
  25. Photo Editing Made Easy on Thursday 11, 2009
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 This software makes editing my sports action pictures as well as those I take of special events as well as weddings and receptions as easy as possible. I can hardly wait to upgrade to the next level of photo editing later this year. Elements 6 makes it very easy for me to prepare my pictures for web publication. Thank you Adobe!
  26. Great Software on Thursday 11, 2009
I always thought Photoshop Elements was a Bowdlerized version of the great Photoshop program, but in version 6 Adobe has everything any photographer would need. They have removed some printing tools, but only the ones a Graphic Arts professional would notice. The only tricky thing is that the user interface is different, but once you learn to navigate it, all the tools work the same.
  27. piss poor on Thursday 11, 2009
I got a CD in an envelope, no box, with the adobe label. The CD, however, was blank and there has been no response from the seller. Be very cautious of vendors outside of Amazon. AF
  28. A Great Product Except... on Thursday 11, 2009
Adobe Photoshop Elements is a great product for touching up your photos. You can load it and navigate through some basic procedures (loading pictures, quick edits, etc.) but after that what do your do? Although there is an online manual, the one sent with the program is closer to a pamphlet. Your next step is investing $25-$40 on a good textbook. I bought “Teach Yourself Visually Elements 6″. The upcoming “The Photoshop Elements 6 for Digital Photographers” by Scott Kelby will be great judging by his version for Elements 5. Teach Yourself VISUALLY Photoshop 6 The Photoshop Elements 6 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)
  29. I’ve been a user of PSE2 for many years, since it came out. Just saw PSE6 at Sam’s Club, decided to take a chance. Been using 6.0 for 3 months. I only use the EDIT mode. 6.0 has some benefits over 2.0. I’m not familiar with the differences over post 2.0 versions. Let me say, generally I’m happy with my purchase, but 2.0 was easier use. Maybe because I was used to it. 6.0 seems to require more clicking to get to where you need to go. More windows and panes to open. Several new features I like/dislike: 1. jpg compression is better without losing info as quickly as 2.0 2. I like the healing brush, though it leaves a blotchy look on some larger spots. 3. The sharpening tool is a slider in a separate window pane that is a pain to open up; an extra step. 4. The contrast/brightness tool does a better job than 2.0; you can brighten without requiring to add contrast at every adjustment. 5. processing raw files is supposed to be easy, I haven’t yet used this My only gripe is that I wish ADOBE would be consistent with terminology; e.g. in 2.0 you used “batch processing”; in 6.0 you find “process multiple files” All in all, I’m happy with the purchase, since I only paid $80 for it. I’m a miser and will have to breakdown someday and buy CS version. -Ed
  30. Seems to Work now on Thursday 11, 2009
I bought this product shortly after Christmas 2007. I love Photoshop Elements and had version 2 and 4 before. I was keeping my fingers crossed that none of problems that occurred with other people would happen when I installed it. It wasn’t to go the easy way I found out. Right after installing it it worked fine, but next time I opened the organizer, it froze. This went on for a couple of weeks while I researched an tried to find out why this was happening. The Editor worked fine from the beginning. There are a few helpful hints in the “readme” file on the installation disk. One day after a couple of weeks the program did not freeze but prompted me if I would like to update my catalog. Needless to say I said yes and it worked! Only, every time I wanted to view one of my albums, the program closed itself. Also, for the new photos that I uploaded, the thumbnails did not appear, just an hourglass. A couple of days ago I looked in the Organizer under “Help” > “Online Support” – there I found some troubleshooting tips and I found some way to “repair” the catalog. This I did and – miraculously – it did the trick. Now the program seems to run fine. The organizer works, I have updated my catalog along with all the tags and albums from the previous version. The program looks great and I am looking forward to working with it – finally! (I am running it on a Windows XP Service Pack 2 Laptop)
  31. Bought as a gift on Thursday 11, 2009
I bought this for my daughter who is a senior in High School and she loves it. She has already used it to create some very cool projects.
  32. This is an excelent software wich let you organize and fix your photos with incredible freedom for the price.
  33. I bought this when it was first introduced as an upgrade from PSE5. I installed it on a new HP computer with three gigs of RAM and about 360 available gigs of storage. It constantly locks up when scrolling through the organizer. Freezes on a regular basis. I am back to using PSE5 now because 6 is totally undependable. If you think I’m exagerating then I suggest you go to the photoshop elements users website and read the forums. There are many threads about people having grief with this software. PSE6 was clearly not tested as it should have been and is a money grab by Adobe for Christmas shopping suckers.
  34. From the Adobe description of this product “Get better quality with 16-bit support Get truer, more vibrant results with support for 16-bit color.” This is the reason I upgraded from version 4. Since I have been scanning negatives using 16 bit color, I was unable to use the old Elements 4 and when I saw that there was support for 16 bit color I bought this. The first thing I did was to open a tiff to remove some dust with the spot healing tool and then the message pops up that this is unsupported. It offers to degrade the image to an 8 bit image but that is what Elements 4 did also so what is the point of upgrading? Essentially I wasted $100 dollars again on something unusable. It is slow to load but I can’t use it anyway. What I was using for dust removal was Photofiltre but that had a bug after several years of use that made me take another look at Elements. Now I’ll file a bug report with Photofiltre and try to work with that again. This product is probably useful if you only use jpegs and are interested in the head swapping feature in those jpegs.
  35. Great enhancer on Thursday 11, 2009
Everyone knows that more provacative pictures are taken since the onset of digital photography. With this program you can make your memories even better. You can make things bigger or smaller(why?) as you wish, and years later have visual proof of the way you remembered the experience. Not that I would ever need anything for enhancement, but it’s there if I ever wish. This doesn’t even mention the multitude of tools available, that are pretty easy to use, to take care of any blemishes on you or your goddess. This is a great program that is well worth the money.
  36. Pictures and More on Thursday 11, 2009
This is a fantastic program. Wish I had purchased a Photoshop Elements program sooner. I had Photoshop 5 for a while before version 6 came out. My digital camera makes great pictures, but Photoshop makes it easy to make them much better especially when the camera operator messes up (which happens occasionally!). I also purchased a manual which I did not do with version 5 and has been well worth the price. I would never have known how much this program can do without the manual.
  37. OCEANBABE is a RIP OFF ARTIST!! She has not returned any emails I have sent. I was sold a product that was NOT what I ordered. I need a refund and there is nobody helping my to get one. EVERYONE Stay AWAY from this seller. And Amazon………HELP you customers to recoup their losses PLEASE!!!
  38. Adobe Elements 6.0 on Thursday 11, 2009
Good product; somewhat complex. It was not clear that $[...] rebate required the ownership of a previous Adobe product.
  39. Work on Thursday 11, 2009
This looks like a good program, but not for beginners. I’m pretty good with software but I’ve still not learned how to email my pictures yet. Hopefully once I’ve learned it, I will like it. Appears that it does a lot – but you won’t be leaning it overnight.
  40. Great Program for the Future on Thursday 11, 2009
I initially gave this program 1 star, because I could not get it to work on a Vista upgraded machine, nor on a different machine with a fresh install of Vista. Graphic Editing is extremely important to me, so I took the plunge and bought an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM and 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 fast fresh Vista Machine and now it works great. The work flow between Quick Fix and Full Edit is smooth, and saves quite a bit of time. Integration with the Organizer is quick and usefull. I wish the Organizer had an explorer type of interface, but I am getting used to it. My old photoshop plugins work with the program, but some of the layer filtering features of the super Photoshop CS3 are missing, oh well. Recently the program stopped working properly, so I did a clone of the computer to an earlier time when it worked, and now it works again. It is so important to me that this program works; I make a copy (clone) using Acronis 10 once or twice a day, in case PSE6 becomes unstable again. I had asked Adobe about the program not running and they were confused and not helpful, asking lots of easy questions to me that were meaningless. I don’t think they recognize the stability problems of the program working on slightly older upgraded Vista machines. But when it is working it is superb, so I have to give it 5 stars, it saves so much time. I have used it for hundreds of photos already, and the work flow is far superior to my previous methods, some which used Ulead products which now don’t work on Vista. For 99% of my needs PSE6 is much faster than PE CS3, so I only use PE CS3 for more technical work. There are dozens of user friendly features that make editing a more natural and enjoyable experience. The slate interface takes some getting used to after decades on white versions of photoshop, but now I prefer it, less tiring on the eyes. The handy sliders on Quik Edit are fabulous. The graphics are clearer and more vibrant than any earlier program provided. This is a program of the Future, and not the past. Don’t try to use it on older machines. It can give you a reason to get that new Duo or Quad processor machine where installation is a breeze and it works almost all of the time.
  41. Released before it was ready on Thursday 11, 2009
I am glad I left Elements 5 installed, as there are several things you can’t do in elem.6. It has some good new features which I want so at this point I need both 5 and 6 to satisfy my needs. Larry
  42. What you get for the money here is excellent! Most of the features you’ll need from Photoshop are included in Elements. The only feature I was used to in Photoshop that I isn’t in Elements is CMYK color mode. So if you’re doing professional printing, this wouldn’t be the right program for you. The major problem with this program is that it crashes constantly! I’ve had to redo so much work because it would crash before I could save. I don’t want to be forced to save after every couple changes. If I’m spending one hour working in this program it will probably crash about 8-12 times.
  43. A bit disappointing on Thursday 11, 2009
I purchased this software not knowing that it does not come with a manual. I think it is quite misleading, you’d think you would be able to download some kind of manual on-line. All I’ve found is a few lame tutorials that really don’t help much. It’s so obvious that a manual is “missing” that a book has been written called “The Missing Manual for Photoshop Elements 6″. Also, I was disappointed with the level of support. I called the 800 number regarding the license agreement (how many copies I can load on computers) and waited on hold until I gave up. I finally found it when I went to load it on my desktop pc in the license agreement fine print. I would have thought it would be on the packaging? Needless to say, it is a slow process trying to figure things out without a manual. I will have to wait until I can buy the “book” to get serious about using it. I don’t think I’ll be buying another Adobe product.
  44. defective program on Thursday 11, 2009
The 1st Photoshop 6.0 I received from you caused my computer to freeze everytime I tried to open it. The 2nd one could not be opened at all. I’ve returned both, and am waiting for a ‘credit’. The item was defective, but ‘Amazon’ stands behind their merchandise and is to be commended on their handling of what could have been a very frustrating situation.
  45. I’ve gone from Elements 2 to 4 to 6, not deliberately following that pattern, but I do find the Adobe upgrade pricing to be very steep and I don’t want to dish out significant chunks of money every year. Elements 6 is a useful upgrade from Elements 4. It being a couple of years since I last paid for an upgrade though, this has probably tempered my view of version 6. This is not a killer application, at least not any more than previous versions of the program, but it is still very good. What is there to upgrade for in this version? The most obvious feature is the new ‘graphite’ interface – having calibrated my screen properly (and that’s another story) I find that it provides a better way to work on photographs – beware though, if your screen is not set up well the new interface could be almost illegible! The ‘tools’ interface is cleaner and the functionality of the tools has been improved somewhat, and although the editing tools remain pretty much the same I seem to find my way around them easier. Usefully, the workflow has been thought through much better, and one can go through a series of actions comprising a project much more easily. What’s not to like? Well, I’ve never been a big fan of the Organizer – why it can’t provide a straightforward explorer view without hogging resources I’ll never understand – another example of Adobe bloatware? Also, having recently bought a camera with super high ISO ratings I find myself gathering an ever increasing bunch of photos with noise like Roman mosaics – the noise reduction filter in Elements is next to useless, so I found myself paying out for a plug-in filter. On speed, I would say it is a little bit slower than version 4, but I can live with that. Overall though, having skipped the upgrade to version 5, I think that version 6 is a good upgrade. Not an essential buy, but worth the price for me. By the way, if you do want to ‘upgrade’ version 4 (or 5) for free, try the ’smartcurves’ plug-in – that one piece of software transformed the way I worked with Elements.
  46. Elements 6 on Thursday 11, 2009
Couldn’t be happier with this program, a bit of a problem finding a manual in December because of how new this Version was (no manual included). I’m a first time user of any Photoshop program and must say with a little reading I’m now able to ‘clean’ up my pictures, clone items, insert text, create images using the Layers portion (easy once you do it a couple times). It also handles ‘RAW’ images with ease; I would definitely recommend this program to a friend.
  47. When it works, it's great on Thursday 11, 2009
This software (6.0) by far and away is the worst citizen on my computer. It hangs, it pegs the CPU and other weird behavior. That aside, I really enjoy it a lot. I’m a long-time Photoshop (CS) user and the cataloging and automated features bring a lot to the table over straight PS. I got this mainly for the catalogging features, my photos were getting out of control and since I was keeping them by date, it was very difficult to locate a specific photo. The tagging feature has helped out a lot in that regard. Beware though, it’s got a big learning curve if you’ve not experienced Photoshop before, and even if you have, it’s fairly different from the many versions. There are some excellent books that will go a long way towards helping you understand the rich feature set. Now if we could get a more stable version…
  48. This was a very good purchase. I have even purchased a second copy for my daughter. I also purchased the instruction textbook. I have been very satisfied purchasing a used copy from this seller.
  49. Photshop review on Thursday 11, 2009
Photshop was everythig I wanted and more.!! I am still learning about the advanced techniques but it really is a simple program to use and not expensive
  50. I love this program! on Thursday 11, 2009
I couldn’t be happier with Photoshop Elements 6. It is turning out to be exactly what I needed. If you are looking for a program that can do just about everything Photoshop can do but don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on it, then this is the software for you. I haven’t found anything that I can’t do in Elements that you can do in Photoshop. I recommend this software to anyone wanting to design using photographs. The program is so user friendly and there are so many forums online that help you when you need it! A great buy at Amazon.com’s price!!!
