  1. Adpbe Photoshop Elements 7 on Tuesday 26, 2009
This looks like great software. I didn’t realize that there was not a user’s manual that came with it, a how-to-use-the-software type book. Now I have to buy the book that teaches me how to use the software. Oh well, live and learn.
  2. Average Joe's Beware on Tuesday 26, 2009
This is not a good software product for beginners. Do yourself a favor and stick to an entry level photo software. Also don’t expect any rebate, it’s not going to happen. I just received another notice from their rebate department saying I forgot to lick the stamp and that tape was not allowed. What a total crock of sht. Stay away from this product.
  3. So far, So good on Tuesday 26, 2009
I have only messed with the “editor” portion of the program so far, but I have found it quite enjoyable! It doesn’t really have much of an owner’s manual but I had heard that before purchasing. I look forward to learning much more.
  4. HATE Photoshop Elements 7. It is not user friendly at all. This is the first time I have purchased Photoshop and I am very disgusted and unhappy. Im spreading the word to all of my picture happy scrapbooking friends. I wish I could get my money back. It locks up my computer ALL the time and it is very complicated to navigate. Very disappointing product…..and I thought Photoshop was supposed to be the best…for who? professionals? I’ve wasted my money and I wish amazon would give me my money back. PS I have other friends who say it locks up their computers all the time too and kicks them out.
  5. Not to be sold copy on Tuesday 26, 2009
The delivery of the product was fast and efficient. The software was not a retail copy, but a bundled CD from some other software or hardware that is illegal to be sold separately.
  6. As usual the Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are a great software for the average person. However noticed that company is not sending the manual with the software like they use to in the past. They are selling the instruction manual seperate. Disapointed in the company’s greed!
  7. AMAZING on Tuesday 26, 2009
It is incredible what this program allows you to do. You have to get a separate book for instruction but the on-line turorials are a great help too. You’ll have to spend time to get comfortable in using the features…just be patient with yourself and the program. You won’t be disappointed!
  8. PhotoShop Elements 7 on Tuesday 26, 2009
I am learning to use this software. It is an upgrade from version 4 which I had and a great improvement in terms of sending e-mails, etc. There are a few glitches in the software and I’ve found a few operations which don’t work as they are supposed to. I suspect these are quality control issues. Other folks don’t seem to have the same problems.
  9. Elements is great. on Tuesday 26, 2009
If you use photoshop but just for the basics then you will love elements. It’s simple to use at a fraction of the price.
  10. Not user friendly on Tuesday 26, 2009
I bought this for my husband who has used several edit programs for photos and he is unable to use it currently due to it’s complicated instructions and inability to implement they type of edits he is use to, such as frames, etc. Unfortunately, currently it is a waste of money and until I have time to look at it fully, feel it was an unfortunate purchase.
  11. Photoshop and Premiere elements 7 on Tuesday 26, 2009
I bought this software with anticipation of doing picture editing and video editing. I have played with it a little, but have not had a chance to dig in a lot. I plan on doing that soon. I anticipate excellent results based on what I have done so far. I do plan on getting some complementary books to shorten my learning curve.
  12. Great for your Digital Photos on Tuesday 26, 2009
Great software easy to use. Retouches your bad photos quickly. Just great for novice photographers. Great way to create albums and slideshows.
  13. Not fit for slideshows on Tuesday 26, 2009
I use Adobe CS4 Web Premium and Lightroom for nearly all my work and have been very happy with the software and service. I purchased PSE7 and PRE7 to prepare a slideshow with easy to add title slides rather than using Lightroom for the slideshow due to some of its limitations. There’s been no improvement in the slideshow aspects of PSE7 than there was in PSE2 or PSE4, which I own. I thought these would have been fixed by now. Text on title slides does not reproduce consistently from media to media, such as PDF versus mpg and working with text is poor at best. I used 6 audio files (about same total length as the show) but only four played and started replaying from the first file in the middle of the show never playing the fifth and sixth. I encountered other problems as well. Adobe tech support was no help in resolving the issues. I returned the product to Amazon and purchased ProShow Gold. Got my slideshow done the first time without problems. I’ve used PSE on occasion to do editing work on photos and its excellent at what it does. But if you want to do slideshows forget about it. Adobe should either fix the problem or sell the product off to someone who will fix and service it.
  14. horrid on Tuesday 26, 2009
Tried to use premiere, with quick start, did not work or download anything. Directions are useless. If I didnt already download it and register it I would stuff it in the box and send it back.
  15. Best I've use on Tuesday 26, 2009
As a novice, I’ve used several editing packages and this one is buy far the best, just make sure you have a large hard or you’ll be buying another one! The multiple layers of editing will have you spending hours at your computer designing some professional looking photos. As a self-critical I’m even happy with my work and have put up a couple pictures in the house which are drawing questions of where I got them and I’ve only had the package for a couple weeks. Haven’t worked with the Premiere Video package as I’m addicted to Photoshop at the moment, but if it’s anywhere near as good I’ll be extremely happy. Buy it!!
  16. Very Impressive Product on Tuesday 26, 2009
I haven’t used Adobe Photoshop or Premiere for years. I must say I am very impressed with the new features now that I am learning about the programs (I highly recommend getting ‘Classroom In A Book” that is availible for this same double featured software if you haven’t used the programs for a while. I am just partway through the photoshop tutorial, but from what I’ve seen so far, it all appears to be well thought out. I was concerned about installing the programs, especially Photoshop elements 7, on my new HP computer. It came with Windows Vista 64-bit operating system which Microsoft says won’t work with Photoshop Elements 7. Nevertheless, both programs installed and operate flawlessly. My one complaint is the obsessive push by Adobe for users to sign up for and to use their service, photoshop.com. I found tricks on how to mask the promo messages from the startup screens on the Internet, but it still occasionally pops up, haunting me like an ex-wife. Even the Elements 7 tutorial book I recommended Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 and Adobe Premiere Elements 7 Classroom in a Book Collectionhypes this fee-based service. Overall, I highly recommend this product.
  17. disappointed user on Tuesday 26, 2009
I received the Photoshop premier and elements. Photshop premier loaded with no problems. I tried to load elements and it would not load. Continued to get an error. I have a Sony HD video camera. I tried to download the video files into Adobe Premier and it would not accept the Sony format. Both programs failed to work as I expected them to. Before you purchase ensure it will work with your video files!! Both programs were a WASTE of Money
  18. Great Software on Tuesday 26, 2009
This is an excellent upgrade from the version 5 I use to operate. It has more features and is as user friendly as previous versions. The total price with the mail in rebate made this a very attractive financial purchase as well.
  19. Gift to teen on Tuesday 26, 2009
Gave as a gift to a 13 yr old budding video/film maker 1. The Photoshop Elements is easier to use than the other Adobe PhotoShop programs. His complaint before this was if he took a few weeks and studied he’d be able to use Photo Shop ,with this edition he was able to figure it out and begin to use very quickly. It is hard to please a teen..the critics… but he was happy! So, if you know Photo Shop, it is the elemental, easier to use edition. 2. The Premiere Elements was a winner as well a.He was able to edit easily b.able to add artwork etc, to make it more dramatic and …SPECIAL EFFECTS were very nice and much easier than he thought c.this is excellent for making movie videos. d. he can make DVD’s of his movies !!!This is exciting for him and we get to see and KEEP his work. e. he can arrange things in DVD chapters and menus just like the real thing !! So, this is how it is judged by a budding film maker and photographer. His dad agrees ! PS. probably the BEST to start with as it is easier to learn and works GREAT !!
  20. GREAT on Tuesday 26, 2009
I’ve just Photoshop Elements part of this and I love it. Easy to use. Great results. No paper manual but these days it’s not a surprise. Recommend this.
  21. For the price you can’t go wrong… Great photo editing power and easy video effects. I love the pano stitch and some of the other utilities to cut out and swap things. If I hadn’t used regular Photoshop before I would’ve given it 5 stars… But they do somethings which make it harder to switch between the regular and elements that just don’t make sense: Menu moving (like where image resizing is), minor differences in hot-keys (like grouping), the removal of editing layer folders (you can open a file with folders, but you can’t work with the layers in them), Weird Startup “Organize, Edit, Create” selection, etc. I know they can’t be the same for the price difference, but they should just keep it to removing pro features like lab color, 32bit, HDR, etc. By changing the basics it just makes it harder to upgrade to the real deal down the line.
  22. It’s taken me a long time to get to writing a review of this product for a relatively simple reason. First, it would not install under Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit until I had to do a complete reinstall of the operating system. Both parts of the package did install under Vista Home Premium 64-bit, but stability has been a problem, particularly with Premiere Elements 7. In preparation for this review, as a matter of fact, I was working on a small editing project. After about a half hour of work splitting and trimming scenes, I reached a point where I could add a transition, a simple dissolve. Well, I would have added a dissolve if Premiere Elements hadn’t frozen on me. I’ve given it about 15 minutes in hopes of the problem resolving itself and it has not. Adobe Premiere Elements has been under a lot of pressure from competitive products at around the same price point. The Premiere product has lots of features. It is not at all intuitive, however, and Adobe was one of the first to monetize everything about its products. Why provide a decent manual with the product when you could make more money selling the manual as a book, like the “official training workbooks from Adobe Systems”? As a result, the help files aren’t very complete. When it works, Premiere is competitive with other similarly priced products from Magix, Sony, Pinnacle and others. With Version 8 around the corner, I am not in a great hurry to upgrade unless I see some evidence that Premiere 8 is more stable. All the features in the world are meaningless if the program keeps crashing. Photoshop Elements 7 is more dependable and, in my opinion, still ranks as a very versatile photo editing package. Again, Adobe provides pretty poor documentation so if you are new to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, prepare to spend more on books that stand in for the manual that should have come with the program. I’ve used the Elements packages for some time. Version 7 suffers from feature bloat and code obesity. On fairly powerful computers, both Premiere and Photoshop Elements ran slowly and I have already mentioned their instability. I think caution is in order both with version 7 and the soon to be released version 8, especially considering that Adobe has effectively raised the price of the upgrade. These have been very troublesome applications for me under Vista. I have not tried them with Windows XP or the soon-to-be-released Windows 7. Jerry
  23. great package on Tuesday 26, 2009
Having used Premiere Elements since 3, The 7 upgrade seems to be better. I am a new photographer also, & Photoshop 7 is an excellent tool for “tweaking” photos. So many options & tools to learn about.
  24. Great! on Tuesday 26, 2009
My boyfriend bought this for me, I absolutely love it. He bought it for me for college since I want to be a photojounralist and he said that this may help me. I learned this product in no time. I love to edit pictures with it, I submitted a picture yesterday. Videos edits are great too, If I could log onto youtube while I was at school I would give you the link to my newest video, which I edited with Premiere. :] It’s a great program, both are.
  25. Slow with Windows 7 on Tuesday 26, 2009
I am new to Photoshop and Premiere, and I have to say that I found neither program particularly newbie friendly. I also don’t like that I am asked to sign up for online features to use the full potential of the software. Both programs run sluggish under Windows 7, and they frequently go inactive (not responding) during use. Start up and shut down are extremely slow, and moving from one window to the next within the programs will often cause a crash. I suspect this is a compatibility issue with this older version of the software and Windows 7, but I thought it worthwhile mentioning for anyone considering this version with Windows 7.
  26. If you’re new to this software, it’s pretty intuitive and gives you an easy way to edit your pictures and video. However with resident and free programs getting better every day, one expects the Adobe programs to simply work and work well. However, it is not the case if you’re using Vista or even Windows 7. It really slows down the performance, and I have a pretty powerful system so I am mystified. Some of the free programs seem to work faster. Having used the pro versions of both Photoshop and Premiere I think Elements gives all the tools needed for casual/amateur photo and video editing and the interface is nicer than some other programs. However, one wishes that there were less compatibility issues and everything would work seamlessly. You also need a lot of space for these programs so if you plan to use them on your notebook make sure you get a more powerful system.
  27. I have been a big fan of Adobe Photoshop Elements for many years. I can still remember how brilliant I thought Photoshop Elements 2 was. Since those days, Adobe has continued to add features, tweak the user interface, and in some cases make the program more buggy. When I upgraded to version 6, I found that I really liked some of the improvements but the entire application seemed to run slower and was sometimes prone to locking up. Now that I have installed version 7, I am experiencing even more sluggishness in performance and it tends to lock up about every other time I use it. In fact, I have found very little change, from version 6 to version 7, other than worse performance and more lock-ups. Premiere Elements is completely new to me. Video editing is my primary hobby so using video editing software is certainly not an issue for me. I have to say, I expected much more from a company like Adobe, when it comes to quality video editing software. The interface is nice looking but the layout and more complex editing options are just plain cumbersome. Many of the special effects are amateur quality and look rather silly. But the biggest downfall of this software is the frequency of crashes. While editing a simple 20 minute AVI video project, Premiere Elements 7.0 completely crashed no less than 7 times! Maybe version number of this software is supposed to indicate how many times it will crash on you when working on a project. When it crashed it would just completely go away and I would be looking at my Windows desktop. I would re-launch the program and have to redo all of the changes I had made since the last time I saved. DVD authoring is almost non-existent as well, offering corny templates to choose from with very little editing capability. This program is just far more frustrating than what it is worth! Don’t get me wrong; at this price point I wasn’t expecting professional editing capabilities. If it had been a basic editing package, that was stable and easy to use, I would be giving it praises for beginners looking to get their feet wet in video editing. However, this program is just plain junk in my opinion. It could have potential but until they improve stability, exponentially, I would not recommend this product to anyone. Overall I have decided to give this duplex software package 3 stars. Photoshop Elements is a good product, which just seems to be getting slower, more complicated and less reliable with each new revision. But it is still a good utility for basic photo editing, for those of us that don’t always need the power of the original Photoshop product. Premiere Elements is only a 1 or 2 star product, in my humble opinion. It is just too clunky, too confusing and very prone to locking up and/or crashing without warning. There is nothing more frustrating than having to do the same work twice, and with Premiere Elements 7 you are almost guaranteed to be doing the same work over and over again. If you have Photoshop Elements 6 then there is no real reason to upgrade at this time. However, it is definitely a step above versions 4 and lower. As far as video editing software, I would recommend steering clear of Premiere Elements 7. I can’t speak for the earlier versions but version 7 is definitely not worth the money or the frustration. =o(
  28. A Truly Seamless Bundle on Tuesday 26, 2009
My interest is in creating beautiful studio portraits, and then adding my client’s favorite music, to create a “music video” on either a standard definition or Blu-ray DVD. I work exclusively on a high-def Timeline, even when the goal is only a SD DVD. The PRE7 and PSE7 bundle work seamlessly together on my system (Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Q6600 CPU, 4GB RAM) and my results are breathtaking. I downloaded the trial version of the 8 bundle, and I’m sticking with 7.
  29. Great product for the beginner on Tuesday 26, 2009
everything I expected. Its great to tweak up my pics with brilliance and adding a watermakers, etc. Made a picture memory dics for my daughter’s 8th grade class. Everyone was impressed.
